Hilton Beach
Situated on the northern section of Tel Aviv’s beaches across from the Hilton Hotel, the Hilton Beach offers entertainment, relaxation and a fantastic location. At one end, this section of beach is bordered by an ice cream shop, apparel stores and a surf shop. On the other, it boasts a beautiful beachside café with comfortable chairs for drinking a coffee or a beer. The Hilton Beach can be found near the pedestrian promenade, and just below the Hilton Hotel cliff upon which Independence Park lies. This park offers exercise equipment, green grass and children’s playgrounds.
The Hilton Beach is a popular spot for three specific crowds. The beach offers Tel Aviv’s only dog friendly section of sand. Dogs are allowed to run unleashed here, and enjoy the Mediterranean waters as much as their owners. The Hilton Beach is also known as the gay beach, attracting Tel Aviv’s large and well known gay and lesbian community to an area for sunbathing accompanied by music and positive energy. The beach also boasts one of Israel’s best surfing spots. Local surfers gather here every morning. First timers or out of town tourists enjoy the surfing club and can rent boards. A surfing competition takes place on the Hilton Beach each year.
The path down to the Hilton Beach is across from Jabotinsky Street on Hayarkon Street at Independence Park.
