First founded in 1956, Tel Aviv University is now the largest of Israel’s research universities. Approximately 25,000 students are enrolled at the university each year. There are nine academic faculties located on the campus - the Faculty of the Arts, Engineering, Exact Sciences, Humanities, Law, Life Sciences, Management, Medicine and Social Sciences. Additionally, there are twenty four schools, including schools of Dental Medicine, Education, Environmental Studies and Social Work. Tel Aviv University also runs a number of special programs, including a preparatory program for immigrants, a Hebrew Studies Unit and the People’s University Project. Executive Programs are run in the fields of computer science, MBA in Financial Management, Mediation and Conflict Resolution, Security and Diplomacy and more. There are also certificate programs including teacher certification, translation and editing and criminal justice. Tel Aviv University also has academic supervision over the Center for Technological Design in Holon, the New Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yafo and the Tel Aviv Engineering College.
