The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra proud to intrduce 80th Birthday Celebrations.
The following concert season, season 2016-2015, will celebrate the Philharmonic 80 th anniversary, and to celebrate the "season of Heroes' some of the greatest musicians in the world will come to Israel, including the pianists András Schiff, Yuja Wang and Daniil Trifonov, winners Vasily Petrenko and Christoph Eschenbach, and some stars such Israeli mandolin player Avi Avital, soprano Chen Reiss.
Zubin Mehta, the eternal conductor of the orchestra, will also mark next year his 80th birthday and some of his known friends will come to Israel and play in his honor, Like: Daniel Barenboim, Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman

Zubin Mehta made his debut as an opera conductor with Tosca in Montreal in 1963. Since then he has conducted at the Metropolitan Opera New York, the Vienna State Opera, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, La Scala Milano, and the opera houses of Chicago and Florence as well as at the Salzburg Festival.
