Atzmaut Beach
Atzmaut Beach, also known as the Hilton Beach, is located at the northern end of Tel Aviv’s beaches, directly across from the Hilton Hotel. This popular beach offers entertainment, relaxation and a fantastic location. At one end, this section of beach is bordered by an ice cream shop, apparel stores and a surf shop. On the other, it boasts a beautiful beachside café with comfortable chairs for drinking a coffee or beer.
Atzmaut Beach received this name due to its proximity to Atzmaut – or Independence – Park. This grassy area adjacent to the Hilton Hotel is located on a cliff overlooking the water and the sand. Atzmaut Park offers exercise facilities, a popular dog park, sculptures and a children’s playground.
Atzmaut (Hilton) Beach is divided into three sections and is therefore a popular spot for three specific crowds: Tel Aviv’s only dog friendly beach - Dogs are allowed to be unleashed here, and run freely enjoying the Mediterranean waters as much as their owners do; The Gay Beach - attracting Tel Aviv’s substantial GLBT community to a concentrated area filled with sunbathers, music and energy, and many same sex couples; The beach is also known for offering one of Israel’s best surfing spots and is lit up at night for late day surfing. Atzmaut Beach also is handicapped accessible.
The path down to Atzmaut (Hilton) Beach passes through Atzmaut Park, adjacent to the Hilton Hotel and across from Jabotinsky Street.
