Bible Lands Museum
The Bible Lands Museum in Jerusalem features the world's only collection devoted entirely to the history of the Bible and the Ancient Near East. Opened in 1992, the Bible Lands Museum has since made its mark as a world renowned center for culture and educational programming in Jerusalem.
The permanent exhibition in the Bible Lands Museum focuses on the Ancient Near East. It boasts thousands of artifacts, many of which come from the extensive private collection of Dr. Elie Borowski, the museum's founder and primary contributor. Pieces reflect the cultures of ancient Egypt, Babylon, Greece, Rome and Israel and many others. Rotating temporary exhibitions vary widely and have included exhibits including "Angels & Demons", "Jewish Magic Through the Ages," "the Glories of Ancient Greece," "Let There Be Light" and "Treasures of Ancient Glass."
The Bible Lands Museum holds regular concerts, lectures, educational courses and family activities on its grounds. It also houses an Education Department offering programs suited to various ages, school tours and pre-holiday events.
