Eilat Underwater Observatory Marine Park
The Eilat Underwater Observatory Marine Park is a unique opportunity to see the Red Sea, the colored fish and underwater life below sea level. The park features two different sections that enable visitors to see the surrounding Red Sea reef and its many colored inhabitants through a glass window. The Eilat Underwater Observatory Marine Park boasts thirty five aquaria including a replica of the coral reef with over 400 types of fish. The large shark tank and above water deck enables direct viewing of this infamous water predator. Also above ground is the sea turtle and stingray pool. This is divided into two sections: adult turtles with stingrays, and newly born turtles, separated for their protection. Visitors are invited to watch daily feedings for most of the sea creatures, including pearl shells, sea turtles, stingrays, sharks and more.
The Eilat Underwater Observatory Marine Park also offers a twenty minute video simulating an underwater dive, audio guides to accompany the walking tour and Coral 2000 – a boat with a glass bottom allowing guests a direct view of the Red Sea during a 35 minute tour. The Marine Park also houses an above ground observatory tower, three restaurants, a souvenir shop and two jewelry stores on its grounds.
The Eilat Underwater Observatory Marine Park is open Saturday to Thursday from 8:30am until 5pm; the park closes at 4pm on Friday and holiday eves. The park is a few miles south of the Eilat City Center along the coral reef.
