Eretz Bereshit
Eretz Bereshit, or Genesis Land in English, offers visitors to experience the Land of Israel as it once was during Biblical Times. Located in the Judean Desert, where Abraham and the other Patriarchs were believed to have lived, this unique experience allows you to relive their lives and history.
Once inside, visitors meet a variety of famous Biblical characters. Eliezer, Abraham’s trusted servant, greets guests with a camel caravan. Isaac and Rebecca are brought together for the first time. Joseph and his brothers retell their story.
Guests can also choose from a variety of activities at Eretz Bereshit to recreate the Biblical way of life. Families and younger groups enjoy parchment writing, pita baking, mosaic making, pottery building, and pottery restoration. Groups of adults can participate in shiatsu workshops, shepherding (with live herds of sheep), and team building activities that can include paintball, wall climbing, archery and omega slides. For groups of all ages, Eretz Bereshit suggests camel rides into nearby Wadi Kelt, jeep rides to the Monastery of Marsabah or Horkania Valley, or a walking tour to the En Mabua natural desert oasis.
A variety of kosher meat or dairy meals are also offered in Abraham’s tent for guests to enjoy at Eretz Bereshit either before or after a planned set of activities. Eretz Bereshit also provides unique space for special events and weddings with up to 400 guests. There are also a number of zimmers (bed and breakfast cabins) to accommodate those interested in enjoying the unique atmosphere and beautiful views at Eretz Bereshit.
