The Hospitaller Fortress
The Hospitaller Fortress (also known as the Citadel of Acre) is a massive fortress built by Crusaders during the 12th century and is a major section of the defensive fortifications of Acre.
The Hospitaller Fortress is a complex of Hospitaler crusader buildings comprising four sections built around an open courtyard. The complex includes a large hall that was used as a dining and gathering room, and other halls which served as the knights' living quarters and as the Order's hospital.
