The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC)
The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya (IDC) was established in 1994 as Israel’s first private college. IDC offers interdisciplinary programming that combines various fields of study along with practical experience in those same fields. The IDC student body includes approximately 7000 students, including 4,500 undergraduates and over 1000 graduate students who study in nine different schools - the Radzyner School of Law, the Arison School of Business, the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science, the Lauder School of Government, Diplomacy and Strategy, the Sammy Offer School of Communications, School of Psychology, School of Economics, School of Sustainability and the Raphael Recanati International School (RRIS). The Raphael Recanati International School offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in English for students from all over the world. The three year undergraduate program hosts around 1400 students from over 80 different countries. RRIS also offers various study abroad programs in the US, Singapore and other countries.
The
Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya is home to a variety of unique research institutes, such as the International Policy Institute for Counter Terrorism, the Project for New Governance in Israel, the Institute for Policy and Strategy (organizers of the annual Herzliya Conference) and the Asper Insitute for New Media Diplomacy.
The Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya boasts an active campus life. Students participate in community service projects, dance and singing groups, legal aid for local community members, student exchange programs and leadership fellowships, a Hillel house, and Israel’s first fraternity – a chapter of Alpha Epsilon Pi (AEP). Additionally, special programming is created for the international student body, many of whom live in nearby Herzliya, with the purpose of helping them to best experience Israeli culture and life by creating dynamic relationships with local Israelis. IDC also boasts 30 different athletic teams, many of which are highly ranked.
