Jerusalem Beach
Jerusalem Beach is located on the corner of Allenby and Hayarkon Streets, just across from the Opera Tower. Due to its proximity to many public bus routes, parking lots, various youth hostels and tourist class hotels, Jerusalem Beach is a favored spot for Israeli teens and younger tourists. In addition to offering a location convenient for non locals, the beach is also close to a variety of eateries and entertainment. Fast food chains, ice cream shops, a movie theater, various cafes and ethnic restaurants, public bathrooms, bars and Tel Aviv’s infamous Abulafia toast (Israel’s version of grilled cheese) are within a short walking distance. Health and beauty spas, the local tourist center and the pedestrian promenade stretching from Jaffa to the Tel Aviv Port are easily reached from Jeruasalem Beach.
On the sands of Jerusalem Beach you will find volleyball nets, a large children’s playground, beach chairs and umbrellas, a restaurant café, as well as a large number of Israeli locals playing matkot (paddleball). For those interested in protection from the hot Middle Eastern sun, Jerusalem Beach features a few wooden gazebos both on and off the sand. Jerusalem Beach also boasts a year round, fully
staffed lifeguard station, as well as a branch of the local Tel Aviv police.
