Sheraton Beach (Metzitzim Beach)
Sheraton Beach (Metzitzim Beach) is one of Tel Aviv’s most popular beaches for local residents. The beach is famous amongst Israeli locals since an Israeli cult classic movie called “Metzitzim”, meaning peeping, was filmed on this stretch of the beach during the 1970s. It is located north of the Religious Beach (Nordau) and just below the Tel Aviv Port at the end of Nordau Boulevard.
Sheraton Beach (Metzitzim Beach) is most often filled with families due to the many nearby attractions. The pedestrian promenade leads directly into Tel Aviv Port from Sheraton Beach (Metzitzim Beach), allowing easy access to all of the area’s events, restaurants, cafes and family activities. The boardwalk along Sheraton Beach (Metzitzim Beach) is also a particularly popular place for bike riders and rollerbladers to come through en route to the Namal.
On the beach itself are public bathrooms and changing rooms, kiosks, shaded gazebos, various restaurants and sea side cafes, free standing exercise facilities, a children’s playground and sport facilities (including volleyball nets) which are lit up at night. Lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for rent. Sheraton Beach (Metzitzim Beach) is handicapped accessible. It is also conveniently located adjacent to a public parking lot and various public transportation lines. A lifeguard station is open in season at the Sheraton Beach (Metzitzim Beach). Dogs and water sports are prohibited on this section of the Tel Aviv beach.
