The Religious Beach (Nordau)
The Religious Beach – or Hof Hadati’im in Hebrew – is a section of beach in North Tel Aviv designated for separate male and female bathing. The Religious Beach, across from Nordau Boulevard and between the Metzitzim and Hilton Beaches, features high walls surrounding it which protect bathers from being viewed by those outside of the area. It is adjacent to the promenade, with a bike path leading toward the Tel Aviv Port.
On Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday, the beach is open exclusively for women. Many non religious women bathe in the nude on these days. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the Religious Beach is just for men. On Saturday this area of the beach is open to both the male and female public and the beach becomes like any other beach along the Tel Aviv promenade.
On the Religious Beach, sunbathers will find a kiosk with cold drinks and packaged food, changing rooms, a children’s playground and lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent. Dogs and water sports are strictly forbidden on the Religious Beach.
