Itinerary

Day 1 : (Friday): Ben Gurion Airport / Tel Aviv

Meet and greet at Ben Gurion Airport by our representative and transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv.

Overnight : Tel Aviv

Day 2 : (Saturday): Leisure time in Tel Aviv

Enjoy Saturday at leisure in Tel Aviv.

Day 3 : (Sunday): Caesarea / Druze Villages / Haifa

Drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. See the excavations of the Crusader city and the Roman port, aqueduct and the amphitheater that has been restored to its former glory as a concert venue. Proceed to Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon; visit the archaeological excavations including the well preserved water supply system . Continue to Daliat El Carmel, a Druze village and enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant. Proceed via Mount Carmel to Haifa for a panoramique view of the Haifa bay and the Golden domed Bahai shrine and gardens.

Day 4 : (Monday): Safed / Golan Heights / Winery

Our tour begins in Safed, the hub of Jewish spirituality and Kabala. We will take time to visit the early synagogues and the artists’ colony. From here we will continue our journey to the Golan Heights to see the former Syrian trenches, Kuneitra and the new Israeli town of Katzrin. Stop at the Golan winery for a special tour and wine tasting. The tour ends at "Kessem Hagolan" with a multimedia presentation of the area and it's history.

Day 5 : (Tuesday): Sea of Galilee / Nazareth / Jerusalem

Start the day with a visit to Nazareth and visit the church of Annunciation; Continue to Tiberias and on to Capernaum to see the remains of the synagogue and eight sided church of St. Peter. Visit Mount of Beatitudeswhere Jesus delivered the sermon on the mount. Our journey carries on through Beit Shean to Beit Alpha with its ancient synagogue’s mosaic floor with the signs of the zodiac. Proceed to Jerusalem.

Day 6 : (Wednesday): Jerusalem - The Old City and Bethlehem

The day starts with a magnificent panoramique view from Mount of Olives. Continue to the old city of Jerusalem; We will visit the Tomb of King Davidand the Room of the Last Supper located on Mount Zion. We will enter through the walls of the Old City and wander through the renovated Jewish Quarter. Walk along the Roman Cardo, the Herodian Quarter and from there to the Western Wall and then along the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Proceed to Bethlehem*, visiting Rachel’s Tomb, theChurch of the Nativity and the manger's square.

Day 7 : (Thursday): Jerusalem - The New City

Drive to the Israel Museum, visit the Shrine of the book where the legendary Dead Sea Scrolls are exhibited and the miniature model of Jerusalem as it was during the 2nd temple period. Proceed for a tour in the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament. Continue to visit Mount Hertzel cemetery and Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Museum. Visit Mea Shearim , the ultra orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem and learn about their unique lifestyle. In the evening enjoy a middle eastern dinner followed by the spectacular "sound and light" show* at the Tower of David museum.

Day 8 : (Friday): Qumran / Massada / Dead Sea

Our journey today will take us to the Dead Sea via the Judean Desert, the lowest spot on earth, roughly 1300 feet (400 meters) below sea level. We will visit Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. We will continue via the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada and take the cable car up to the ancient fortress where in 73 AD the Zealots held out against the Romans before committing mass suicide. Back down again by cable car and if we have time and the climatic conditions are favourable we will have an exciting experience of floating in the Dead Sea.

Transfer to Ben-Gurion Airport for departure.

A nine night tour starting on Friday focusing on classical sites and incorporating Tel Aviv, Caesarea, Haifa- the Bahai Shrine, the Golan Heights, the mystical city of Safed, the Old and New cities of Jerusalem - the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Dead Sea and more. We will be staying in hotels in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Kibbutz Lavi guesthouse in the Galilee and Jerusalem. Our accommodation will be on BB basis in the hotels and HB basis in Kibbutz Lavi guesthouse.
